Current assessment tools for traumatic brain injury (TBI) have several limitations, and a lack of standard definitions and consistency in clinical management guidelines is a challenge in the evaluation and management of mild TBI (mTBI).
The module will explain the diagnostic dilemma of mTBI in the emergency department and elaborate on why clinicians are desperately seeking a quantitative new evaluation tool.
The module will also highlight the value of using neurological biomarkers in diagnosing mTBI, and how it could reduce multislice computed tomography (MSCT) by up to 30%–40%.
